Case Study 1. Hubtel Communications beats the storm.

The bad weather that took Birmingham city centre by surprise on Thursday 3rd November 2011 played particular havoc with one Hubtel Communications customer.

Divorce and Family Law Practice is a modern law practice based in the heart of Birmingham concentrating solely on the areas of divorce and family law. They originally commissioned Hubtel Communications to maintain their Panasonic KXTD612 telephone system in 2011. Hubtel were chosen on cost and on their proven track record of being able to deliver on system repairs.

Unfortunately, the heavy rainfall saw the system fail due to severe water damage. Hubtel Communications were called out to assess the situation and provide a solution that would enable the practice to carry out its day to day duties with minimal disruption to their clients. Graham Barber, Practice Manager comments, "When we realised that our telephone system was down we called Hubtel Communications whose response was immediate. Hubtel arrived within 2 hours on that same afternoon.”

Such was the damage to the equipment the only option was to replace the telephone system with a new Panasonic NCP500 telephone system. Unlike other providers Hubtel Communications carry a stock of new systems and handsets. This meant that we were able to price up late on Thursday afternoon and install the new Panasonic NCP500 on Friday morning.

Case Study 2. SIP telephony the way forward 

AGW Ltd is an established window and door provider in Oxford and has been using Hubtel Communications to provide their calls, line rental and Panasonic telephone system for the past 5 years.

A re-location was on the cards for AGW and Andy, the business owner, hoped to keep the move as simple and straightforward as possible which meant keeping their existing geographic telephone and fax numbers. As they were moving to new premises within the Oxfordshire area, Andy thought all numbers would be easily transferred, avoiding disruption to customers and administrative fuss.

However, this wasn’t the case. Despite staying within the Oxfordshire area, AGW was actually moving away from their local BT openreach exchange. Using traditional telephony, this meant that AGW was unable to keep their existing numbers, something which they wanted to avoid at all costs.

Thanks to SIP technology, Hubtel knew that AGW could achieve their telephony requirements by hosting their existing lines on a VOIP connection. Essentially, AGW could have re-located to any part of the UK and still kept their telephone numbers; it was a simple process of providing a high performance ADSL connection with durable upload and download speeds to ensure quality of conversation. A new Panasonic NCP telephone system was also installed to support the new SIP infrastructure.

Andy comments: "The outcome for us is that we didn't have to incur any marketing costs informing our customers of our new telephone numbers and we can also promote the business in different parts of the country.
